We’re Spanish, so naturally we adore a warm sun and salty seaside and embrace life. Amid Cambodia’s intense sunshine, tropical breezes, blue-green waters and big bright smiles, we created Lolaola — an inspired project reflecting our roots and adopted home.This adventure began as a hobby and creative outlet amongst friends. Lolaola blossomed out of wanting to make our own pretty, playful and useful pieces to accessorize our lives. And with helpful feedback of our community Lolaola expanded our product range to consist of decorative totes, towels, sleeves and clutches, plus a growing line of personal products and houseware goods.

So, you see, Lolaola was initially sparked by our wanderlust and a love of Southeast Asia. But, we have also observed the daily hardships and difficult living-working conditions of so many Cambodian women. Lolaola has, since the beginning, been our own small platform to serve as an instrument for change, even if only one woman at a time, to improve the overall quality of life for all women here.

Since 2017, Lolaola has slowly grown from making one fabulous beach towel with our own secondhand sewing machine to consciously producing a line of products. (Wow, we actually have a product line!) But we’re still a very small production brand and we handle every piece produced. It’s thanks to our customers for their care and support that we can now offer fun and functional handbags & clutches, wet storage bags & towels, and a home collection.

Cambodia is a wondrous Southeast Asian country, full of untapped opportunities. Its youthful energy and young population make it an ideal place for nurturing fresh ideas and new startups like Lolaola. We were in awe of that creative Cambodian vibe and go-getter energy. We were so inspired by its textiles, colors, nature, and rich Asian culture, that we set out ourselves, designing a few accessories blended of Spanish flair and Southeast Asian fabrics.
